If even one person could have the success I have had (& made a career of) off of your teaching, law enforcement would be in a great spot.
Erik Baum knocked it out of the park with his class. I took the online one a little while back and it was legitimately impressive. I've been reading a lot on interviews and interrogations before and your attack on it was legitimately game changing and really created a great mindset on how to approach them.
I took the Reid 4-day course a few months ago and I liked it, but what I liked about your class better was how you had examples of what to say when you hit a roadblock. There is no doubt in my mind I would have had a confession from my robbery suspect had I had your class prior.
Did my first interview last night ALONE because I was the on call. And even though it was for something small, a property theft we'd been investigating, I was able to use what l've learned from you about just talking & talking and before I knew it, he was shaking his head yes, and agreeing with the sympathetic reasonings | was throwing out there as to why he did what he did and then he just told me everything. I did everything you said to do... before going in I sat down, I went into my office and reviewed the case and security footage and made a game plan so when I went in, I was ready for either way it might play out. So thank you!
It was great to sit through your course and I really learned a lot. I have been working towards an investigative position at my agency and have shadowed some of our detectives to expand my experience. It was cool to look back and see how they were implementing the things you are teaching. Especially with one suspect who kept denying everything but eventually stood up and put his hands behind his back stating "I did it." It was also very helpful to me to look back at some of my mistakes as a patrol officer and know what I can change moving forward. I'm really excited to apply the concepts you taught us while I investigate future cases. Thank you for a great training day. You were very engaging and I learned a lot.
I recently took your online course for Interview and Interrogation. I thoroughly enjoyed this course and learned a lot of new material to incorporate in my career. I've already seen some of this work as I have put it to use and I just wanted to reach out and say thank you.
BEST Interview/Interrogation class I've ever been too.
Instructor Erik Baum is fantastic, was very informative, patient, shared many stories and is relatable. Excellent explanation and break down of the steps of interviewing.
I attended your training and wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude. The information you shared was incredibly valuable and has significantly impacted my career as a newly appointed detective with my agency. Prior to the announcement of the detective bureau opening, a sergeant advised me to pursue additional training, even at my own expense. Following that guidance, l researched various classes and your seminar was the first one I paid for and enrolled in. Shortly after attending your class, I had the opportunity to investigate a minor case involving a broken window. Utilizing the interview techniques I learned from you, I successfully obtained confessions from both individuals involved, which had eluded another officer. While I have attended other classes since then, none have matched the quality and effectiveness of yours. As officers, we often don't receive enough recognition, so I wanted to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you.
Just finished your online class and wanted to say it was one of the best classes l've experienced. I've taken other interview/interview interrogation classes, but never anything as comprehensive and informative. Thank you.
